Hi...
Slackware 11.0, KDE 3.5.5, Ktorrent 2.0.3/2.1rc1: Torrents loaded, Window closed. When i move the mouse over the Systray-Icon the infowindow appears only for a few ms. I cannot read the current stats. Is there a setting to increase the display time? DV |

Yes, I know. I have seen this problem too.
Problem is that a few KDE apps use almost the same mechanism for tooltips and they behave properly but ours doesn't. It could be some kind of a bug in Qt triggered by something in our code but I couldn't find it. I have planned to rewrite tooltip code to show more usable info and update some values real time, like amarok does, but I still haven't found the time for it. |

This is nothing new, it has always been a problem in KTorrent. All tooltips in KTorrent have a problem.
It's quite easy to "lock" them so no tooltips is shown anywhere, or very hard to trigger. Just try to trigger the chunkbar tooltip a few times, and keep it as long as possible. After that it's impossible to get any tooltips in the toolbar etc, for some time. And it's clearly a update related problem, if you stop all torrents(aka notting updates). The tooltips works ok everywhere. |

But this should only affect the tooltip for the systray icon. No other tooltip in KTorrent should be affected by that, as they contain nothing that updates every second. I think it's better to hunt for the reason every regular tooltip does not function properly, rather than consentrate on the special case of the system tray. If you disable the systemtray icon the other tooltips still behave the broken way. So either do KTorrent continue to send updates to the systray icon's tooltip when it's disabled, or the problem is most likely elsewhere. |
