i just started several downloads that go directly to my external hdd. right now i got an error message, something like that in english:
error: could not open "/home/ungua/.kde/share/apps/ktorrent/tor0/cache/FILENAME" no such file or catalogue

my question is: is the torrent broken or am i dependent on my native hdd to download things? the difficulty is that there is almost no space on my notebook's hdd and when i wake up to a row of errors and a full hard drive tomorrow morning i could just as well turn off the machine now. :)

yes, it is fat - since i then can access it from different machines. but now it looks as if downloading works very well without disturbing my notebook's hdd. :)

p.s.: ktorrent's downloading speed doubles when i use a browser (in my case: firefox) to surfe at the same time. how can this be explained!? as soon as i stop, it slows down again.

FAT has problems with some characters in filenames.

Huh, that's strange.

but i assume that there's nothing not compatible to fat on my list. :) the torrent was probably faulty.
Huh, that's strange.

and pretty much counterintuitive...
