It depends what you want to do with a torrent, do you want to keep seeding it forever, or do you want KT to stop it at a point you think is enough ?

A seeding ratio is a limit of uploaded_data/downloaded_data at which to stop uploading to the torrent. The use of it is a purely personal and preferential decision.

Most of the torrenting etiquette guidelines recommend seeding up to a 1.00 to 1.50 ratio at minimum before exiting the swarm.

Personally, I will judge by swarm size and personally decide when to stop seeding a torrent. If a popular Linux torrent has 20000 seeders and 5000 leeches, I'll probably just exit as soon as convenient for me, because it doesn't like the health of that swarm is not gonna fail anytime soon.

On the other hand, if more rare content had a swarm of 5 seeds and 20 leeches, I'll seed for a longer time just to make sure the swarm doesn't die out.
