A question or request, depending...

Hey, is there a way to turn off sound from Ktorrent? The noises it makes are pretty loud, and when I add a torrent at night, it wakes my fiance up. I would prefer not to just shut my system sound down, because I play quiet background music to help her get to sleep.

If there is not a way, can I request that as a feature?

Arr, didn't know there were sounds in KTorrent O_o

But then again, I have all system sound notifications turned off. Check out Sound & Multimedia -> System Notifications in Control Center. There isn't any entry for KTorrent, thus it probably uses some "system-wide" sounds.

Hmmm. If XFCE has those options I cannot find them.

Still, I think you're right, I think Ktorrent is using default system sounds and simply triggers the system sound. So now the question is, is there some way to turn off that sound trigger? If not, can I request it as feature please?

Launch/install kcontrol which will give you the KDE control panel and look for sounds/multimedia. KTorrent's sound options should plug into that dialog.
