Is the upload slots settings for each torrent or a global total?
I am currently downloading a torrent that seems to have take over all allocated upload slots while it is downloading. It is actually uploading more than downloading, so I set the peer connection a little lower than the upload slot settings hoping it would keep a couple slots open for the other seeds. If the upload slot setting is per torrent than I do not need to worry about it, but I did not see any references to global vs torrent in the settings menu. Is there any way I can set up priorities to limit some seeds from becoming to aggressive ? thanks joe |

Hi! This is a problem for me. First because in the options it is not written that this setting is per slot. Second because ktorrent uses my harddrives too much. Even at the highest memory setting, it uploads 12 files at the same time and keeps on accessing my harddrives every second. I would like to be able to set any size of files cache I want, like 20 MB for example, to prevent ktorrent from making too much noise with my harddrives and causing them a premature death, and slowing my personal usage of my harddrives.
Amule gives users more freedom (kbytes per slot setting, cache setting - though not big enough). As a result, I shut down ktorrent (and use only amule, where I upload a lot) when I do not need to download a file, and I upload only that file. If you give us more freedom I will upload more on the torrent network. Thank you for your attention. |
