Hi all,

The new web interface plugin displays the shared flle list OK. But I can't load a new .torrent file, either via URL or a local file.. Every time I try it, it simply redisplays the login screen.

Is this working for anyone else?

I am using v2.1-7 under FC6.

This should work with the current version in SVN, the webgui plugin has changed quite a bit since the 2.1 release.

Confirmed

I can confirm this with KTorrent 2.1.2 in Ubuntu 7.04 (self compiled). Whenever I try to enter a new .torrent the webinterface logs out. The new .torrent is not added after logging in again. :( Same thing if I click refresh.

I tried all interfaces: mobile, default and cold-milk - always log out when I do any action.

I am using Epiphany 2.14.3 with gecko-1.8 rendering engine on Ubuntu 6.06.
KTorrent is running on a Kubuntu 7.04 machine in the same LAN.

I have exactly the same issue. Actually, pretty much everything I touch behaves in the same way - stop/start torrents, uploading, etc.

If some people have it working, I guess it's not an HTML issue, but rather something to do with the php connection to the app?

I'm using the latest unstable dist on fink (2.1.2-1003) on Mac OS X 10.4.

Got the web interface working at last on SLAX 5 with PHP 5 and using version 2.1 of KTorrent (2.1.2 kept crashing and didn't have the plug in anwyay).

Now I keep getting the behaviour described above, whenever I do something in the web interface.....

I would like to investigate this issue. Could someone tell me how the login procedure works? I guess there must be an issue with the interface forgetting that the user has already logged in. Maybe there is a way to fix it or disable the login if you are running ktorrent in a secure LAN.

Solution

It's indeed a problem with the cookie. I think I tracked it down. If you login to the webinterface and create a session cookie, change the IP address of the machine running KTorrent and try to login again, the new session cookie is not correctly created / read / whatever.

Solution: Assign a static IP address to the computer running KTorrent and delete all previous KTorrent session cookies:
You stay logged in again.

It's giving me a cookie that is supposed to expire at the end of the session, but the cookie may be being ignored? Is it working for anybody else with a port of 8080? I'm wondering if that's what's causing the cookie issue.

I don't know exetly how, but it works now.

I edited manualy this file: .kde/share/config/ktorrentrc file. Added a new torrent path to [KFileDialog Settings] section. After that uploaded the torrent (because it didn't started as i expected) and started to download.

Go ahad try another one. Without config editing. Now it works, but i don'n know how. (my web interface a bit silly now. Dont mind.)

You might have better have a look at rTorrent an text-based client or php scripted torrent clients like TorrentVolve or TorrentFlux.
