Explanation of the "Progress" column

Fri Mar 02, 2007 12:23 am
Hi,

under the "Blocks" tab is the "Progress" column which shows number such as 124/256. What do these numbers mean?

Thanks,

Roblov.

It's a fraction showing how much of a given chunk has been downloaded.

I know it's a fraction. But why is 256 the divider every time?

Each 1 is 16 KB, so the total amount is the chunk size divided by 16 KB. You seem to allways find torrents with chunk sizes of 4 MB.

Ok, that's the kind of answer i was looking for. I'm used to downloading DVDs. They tend to use blocks of 4 MB for some reason.

Thanks,

Roblov.
