2 things:
- Could the RSS downloader have a download path per filter instead of using the "automatically download everything to..." checkbox? When I manually download something I want to pick where it goes to. Also, I usually organize my stuff into seperate folders for each show. - Could the RSS downloader recognise and parse dates (e.g. for downloading The Daily Show) in a similar way to how it parses episode numbers currently? |

hi dobes_vandermeer,
I'll be organised a download path per filter option in a future release - can't say whether it'll be pre kde4 release or not. Though it's definitely been a widely requested feature. Could you provide some examples of the formatting used in shows with dates so I can work from these? Cheers, Alan. |

This is the particular feed I'm interested in:
http://tvrss.net/search/index.php?show_ ... e&mode=rss The format is something like The Daily Show 2007-03-01 so the pattern is something like XXX YYYY-MM-DD I've seen the order of year, month, and day switched around and also YYYY.MM.DD. Basically three numbers seperated by - or . could be considered a date I suppose. In this particular feed only one entry is sent for each date, but that's not always the case, so I'm just trying to avoid getting duplicates based on other groups or formats. |

Hi Dobes,
I've been thinking about this and here's my suggestion. I implement a separate date based section that you can activate - the same way you do with the tv series. I may actually make it a dropdown - so you can select series options "no series", "season and episode" or "dates" The dates section would have a few required settings. A RegEx for capturing the date - this would default to "([0-9]*)[^0-9]([0-9]*)[^0-9]([0-9]*)" - requirements would be that it makes 3 captures. An option selecting the type of each capture (year/month-number/month-name/day). Then a start and an end date for limits. This is pretty significant rework of options and saving etc - so while I can say I'll definitely get it into the kde4 version before then isn't particularly likely, but I'll see how it goes. Cheers, Alan. |

Okay, thanks for considering it ... it's not a priority issue at the moment since right now there are no conflicts on the feeds I am using. I might try and implement that myself but I've got a lot on my plate already.
However, in the long term I think many people will find that to be useful. Selecting a save directory per filter would be *far* more useful. Currently I find it quite annoying that in order to use RSS I have to save all my downloads into the same folder. I use cp -al to put hard links in the folder I *really* want it so I can keep my stuff organized, but that's not going to work when I put in another hard drive. As an alternative, I suppose it would be handy if ktorrent would let me move the data files for a torrent without stopping uploads. |
