I have problems by compiling ktorrent 2.1.1 in debian, I have try to use the command before ./configure:

#make -f admin/Makefile.common

it was posted in another topic, but i get the error:

./admin/cvs.sh: line 33: --version: command not found
*** AUTOCONF NOT FOUND!.
*** KDE requires autoconf 2.53 or newer
make: *** [cvs] Error 1

After I try to configure like:

#./configure --prefix=/usr

and compiling with checkinstall:

# checkinstall -D make

it was ok no errors by compiling, I get my deb. package but by installing them I get the error:

Unpacking ktorrent (from .../ktorrent_2.1.1-1_i386.deb) ...

 trying to overwrite `/usr/bin/ld', which is also in package binutils
dpkg-deb: subprocess paste killed by signal (Broken pipe)
Errors were encountered while processing:
 ///media/sdb2/ferenc/programas-linux/ktorrent/ktorrent-2.1.1/ktorrent_2.1.1-1_i386.deb
RESULT=1

You need to install autoconf and automake.

ok, I have install autoconf and automake but I get still the same error when I try to install the deb package:

I think checkinstall works like this :

./configure
make
checkinstall (as root)

Now is ok, It was my fault, I was taking the wrong option in checkinstall.
The Deb. package was compiled and install ok.
