Hello everyone,

Whenever I start Ktorrent now (using Ubuntu Dapper), it starts about a hundred instances of kio_http. This causes my CPU to sit on 100% and it also uses up about 512MB of ram in the process. Till now I've had to do killall kio_http almost every time I start it, has anyone else had this problem?

The only other threads I can find mentioning ktorrent and kio_http is ktorrent not being able to start kio_http at all, let alone starting a hundred of the buggers.

KIO should never start that many processes.

How many torrents are you running ?

Only running four torrents at the most. I'm having to reinstall now it as it wont start at all. It stalled when it tried to start a particular process, should have written it down. It was *_uiserver (perhaps kde_uiserver?).

*edit*
It just did it again for the first time since reinstalling it, after a while all the kio_http instances ended by themselves, the CPU usage dropped, and KTorrent reported that on of the torrents couldn't be accesses due to ulimit etc.

I've increased the ulimit for my torrents folder, I've done the same previously though and that didn't stop it from starting the kio_http instances last time.
