How to stop uploads

Sun Apr 15, 2007 9:17 pm
I would not normally wish to do this. My ISP sent me a "Notice of Claim of Copyright Infringement". Just in case this is because of uploading, how do I turn it off?

thanks,

After getting a notice like that, I would stop both illegal uploads and downloads, unless your looking forward to large fines and/or jail time.

You can't turn off upload. While downloading, it has to be turned on - that's how BitTorrent works. You can stop upload when you're done downloading though.

I don't know how serious this notice is, but anyway I'd turn on IPFilter plugin and load AntiP2P filter. It -could- solve your problem.

In 2.2 we will be adding SOCKS proxy support, should be a great way to avoid legal issues (provided the proxy is located in a safe placeà

George, will SOCKS proxy support (preferably 4a) make it into 2.2?

We have decided to shift it to 3.0, don't really like the way SOCKS stuff is handled in KDE.

ktorrent Vanishes

Mon Jun 11, 2007 5:57 am
My ktorrent tend to vanishes after few hours and at times few minutes, I use the latest version, and the Operating system is Fedora Core 2007, the final release, In the previous version of Fedora, same thing happened but it was brought under control by turning off all the plug ins. Can any one assist with how to prevent this kind of sudden shut downs of the ktorrent.
