Corrupt Torrent?

Sat Apr 28, 2007 6:59 am
Hello all!

Every time I start ktorrent, I get an error message saying "An error occurred while loading the torrent. The torrent is probably corrupt or is not a torrent file." But I have no idea which torrent is causing this problem.

Afterwards, everything works fine, but I'd like to get rid of the problem.

Thanks for the help!

You'll have to find out which torX/ directory contains problematic torrent. Currently, you'll have to do it manually and it's a damn ugly job but there's no other way at the moment. I need to take care of this.

So, open your ~/.kde/share/apps/ktorrent directory and backup all your torX/ dirs. Then start adding one by one (you can skip the ones you know for sure that are good) and restart KT whenever you add new torX/ dir. When you find out which one is causing the troubles - delete that dir and eventually send us the torrent so we can see what's causing the problem.

Ok. Dialog box will now show torrent path so you'll know exactly which torrent is corrupted.

Upgrade to the latest SVN version or do what I described in my previous post.

Cheers! I'll do as you suggested - and I'm looking forward to the new version.
