ktorrent memory usage in KDE compared to gnome

I was just wondering- did anybody compare how much more ram ktorrent uses in gnome with extra libs that are not loaded by gnome itself compared with the ram it uses in KDE where some libs might already be loaded ?

RAM measurements are extremely hard to make without some very specialized kernel patches that try to accurately account RAM usage... I'd caution any naive results one may get out of top, ps , or system monitors.

exmap is a pretty good solution to determining memory usage.

Some nice patches allowing better evaluation might end up in a kernel soon.
