Lately I have seen quite a few torrent seaders/leachers with n/a listed for country

What does it mean?

Not available (IP/country isn't in a database?).

Thanks for posting lucke but you just rephrased my question. So, how is it that, country isn't in a database? Is there large gaps in this database? Or does it take a while for ktorrent to look up the ip address and give each user a country description?

Obviously this isn't a critical question, i'm just curious now that i've noticed.

There are some IPs that cannot be mapped to a country for different reasons (for example, AOL IPs are spread through various countries such that if you use IP A in country X, IP A+1 might be in country X or country Y, nobody knows for sure. There are other reasons, tough). That's why ktorrent (and any othere software that uses geoIP) will sometimes show N/A instead of country.
