UPnP plugin can't find my router

Thu May 17, 2007 10:19 am
Since I switched to Debian, KTorrent (2.1.4, compiled from source) the UPnP plugin cannot find my browser. It used to work fine under Kubuntu Edgy and Sabayon. I don't know what other info to include.

What can I do about it?

Manual port forwarding is sadly not an option for me.

If you know how to use ethereal or wireshark (as it is called today), could you take a trace and send it to me ?

I don't know if you got my PM some weeks ago. Anyway:

I've never used Wireshark before so I'm not completely sure of what you mean by trace.

I did what I think is an eth0 trace, then clicking Rescan in the UPnP plugin. I waited for a minute. I have sent the complete trace to joris-at-ktorrent-org.

It would be nice if you could point me towards what information you would need. I'll try to read up on it and provide it if I can.

Thanks a lot for the help, and for a great application!

I see ktorrent trying to find your router with HTTP M-SEARCH, but it doesn't respond.

Also occasionally an UPnP capable router will send out a bunch of packets advertising it's capabilities. This also doesn't happen.

Are you sure UPnP is enabled on the router ?

I thought I had it enabled, but apparently it wasn't. I guess my router was resetted or something, for some reason. Anyway, now it's working fine. Thanks!
