Can't seed a new torrent

Thu Jun 28, 2007 4:38 pm
I'm using version 2.1.4 on Open Suse 10.2 and have run into a problem.

I can download and seed back fine but when I went to up a new torrent I got an error message "Can not open /home/jim/kde/share/apps/ktorrent/tor0/cache/ Permission Denied"

I'm fairly new to linux and not quite sure where to start fixing this. Any help appreciated.

Thanks

You need to check the permissions of that folder.

Go to /home/jim/.kde/share/apps/ktorrent/tor0/ (don't forget the . in .kde) with konqueror, right click on properties. Then select the permissions tab.

The owner should be able to view and modify content and the owner should be your username.

That's what it says. Owner can view and modify and the owner is listed as my username. It's a start at least, thanks
