after having x crash because of wine, i've been getting this

Log out and then log in again.

Try running klauncher manually

i got this

kernel@laptop:~$ klauncher
klauncher: This program is not supposed to be started manually.
klauncher: It is started automatically by kdeinit.


then i ran kdeinit, klauncher again and ktorrent worked ;)
