I'm downloading really large torrents, not DVD's with .rars á 10GB but 100GB++ sized with lot's of files. Recently I've gotten more or less forced to use linux, kubuntu, which led me to your program.
While downloading a really large torrent, the program started to crash while trying to change the properties of it. Not being used to the linux system at all (barely managed to get Ktorrent working..) I've gotten lost. At first the program warned me about the torrent and said it had missing files, just like it would if you've deleted some of the already finished files. Trying all alternatives to fix it (recreate files, ignore, cancel) didn't help. So I searched for the tempfiles (.kde/share/apps/ktorrent) and deleted the non working torrent, which resulted in the program not starting at all. Is it possible to get the program running again? I've spent some weeks with a couple of slow torrents which I don't want to loose. If something is unclear just ask and I'll try to explain it better. |

I was using 2.0.3
I solved it by deleting all the temporary files and the cfg file (~/.kde/share/apps/ktorrent/ and ~/.kde/share/cfg/ktorrentrc or whatever). Then I tried to reproduce the bug again so I could report it, but now it seems to be working fine. I'm fairly sure the crash was a result of a huge torrent and a moderately slow computer. |
