2.2.1 released

Mon Jul 23, 2007 6:09 pm
We have just released the 2.2.1 version of ktorrent, this is mostly a bug fix release. The biggest bug being the file selection bug.

As allways packages can be found on our downloads page.

Wed Jul 25, 2007 6:17 am
Hey George,

Is it supposed to fix the problem with the Info widget and the rssfeeds?

i finally managed to install this version yesterday. having one unfinished torrent yesterday night, i turned off the computer and went to sleep. restarting ktorrent now resulted in an empty screen - seems like there's no chance to take up the unfinished torrent, which was at about 700mb/1.35gb. is this a known bug?

best regards
ungua

edit: before that happened i told a friend how much i liked the new version, that everything seems intuitive now and that very good statistics are available (i'm a sociologist, he's an engineer - interest in statistics is crucial for us): "is that program available for windows, too?"

I've had moderate success compiling up KDE to KTorrent in Windows, using Cygwin. However, it's definitely not for the faint of heart, but rather the idea of a "fun afternoon" to a computer geek. Until KDE 4.0 brings some easier way of running KDE apps under Windows, I would never recommend doing this except as a UNIX exercise!

i can imagine that this is a rather unnecessary exercise... :) but how about the other problem? is this not a bug, but a feature, or am i doing something wrong?

Wild guess: You did start ktorrent once as an user and once as root. Therefore you don't see your torrents.

in ~/.kde/share/apps/ktorrent , do you see any directories named torX, where X is a number ?

Btw, did you change the folder to store temporary files to /tmp ?

yes, i can see "tor0". i tried to change the folder for temporary files to an extern hdd, but for some reason this was not possible. i then chose "default" again.
