I am new to KTorrent (coming from Azureus). I was just wondering what the logic behind the queue manager was?
Unless I'm missing something the default list view in KTorrent is kind of useless? It shows me all of my torrents in alphabetical order (or sorted by whatever column I click on obviously), or using the cool grouping feature (which I really like and which is very elegantly implemented) but gives me no indication of an items position within the priority queue. Wouldn't it make more sense to just do away with the QM and have the normal list view encompass the same functionality? |

Well, the thought behind it is that you can have a max limit of downloads and uploads active when these torrents are in queue driven state. It is not as big as azureus with rules and such though.
I do not know the thought of Ivan about this, but this might change in the kde4 version because if i remember correctly there were changes coming. Not sure what though.
I agree with you, this is way more easy. Maybe we are in luck for the next version? |
