Permission denied

Tue Oct 02, 2007 9:08 am
Hello,

I run KTorrent 2.2.2 on a BlueWhite64 Linux (64-bit variant of Slackware). I was trying to resume a download made with uTorrent on Windows, so I copied the files to my /home partition (ext3 formated) and laod the torrent in KTorrent. Verification went ok, but when it was done and it was supposed to start downloading, I got an error related to Permission Denied on /home/username/.kde/share/apps/ktorrent/tor0/cache/FILES.
I've chown the FILES and chmod them to 777, just to be sure, but I still got the same error.
Anyone can tell me why is that?

It would be weird in your home partition, but maybe the ownership of the files? You can check that with $ls -l

You have to chown and chmod the actual files not the symlinks in ~/.kde/share/apps/ktorrent/torX/cache/
