Title could have been: "Dialog window not brought to front with Compiz Fusion"
I would make a bug report for this, but don't know where to put it. Anyway, I use Ktorrent i Gnome with Compiz Fusion. If I open a torrent in Ktorrent from Firefox, the dialog window asking where I want to put the files is not brought to the front of the screen. I suspect this is due to the following: I run $ xprop|grep WINDOW_TYPE|cut -d_ -f10 it returns "DIALOG," I think this should be without the comma, and that this is what's screwing with Compiz' window handling. My fix for right now is having: "title=Select Which Files You Want to Download" in Compiz Fusion's "Window Rules plugin". This keeps the dialog on the front untill I close it, so still a little annoying. Could someone with super-ktorrent-powers look into this and confirm? |

This is what you get when you don't cut anything :
_NET_WM_WINDOW_TYPE(ATOM) = _NET_WM_WINDOW_TYPE_DIALOG, _NET_WM_WINDOW_TYPE_NORMAL So this comma is just part of the output generated by xprop. I suggest you talk to the compiz people, KT has no problem to bring the dialog to the front in a normal setup. |

That may be the case, but Ktorrent's dialog differs from the other dialogs I've seen. Just check out this screenshot of getting the window type of Ktorrent:
![]() and a Firefox dialog here: ![]() I don't understand how this is not an issue, if Ktorrent is different in this respect than other apps. |

You're quite right. And Amarok's settings have this as well. I was annoyed by the fact that the ktorrent dialog is not brought to front, and it's the only window I've come across that this happens to. I was just checking one possibility. I'll check with the Compiz Fusion forums instead. - Ketil |
