OiNK ban

Wed Oct 17, 2007 3:01 am
as an oink member, i am very careful with what i do. i have over 90 gigs uploaded and was loaded with invites. until about 2 weeks ago, i was keeping those invites protected. my friend asked me for an invite. i had 10 invites so i thought what the hell. i went through the rules to him, told him not to cheat and be careful about his ratio. i log on OiNK one day and my invites were gone. i consulted #oink-help and found out that when someone you invite cheats, your invites get banned. i asked the recipient of this invite he and said he was banned. the mods only said he was cheating and would not specify how. unfortunately, my friend doesnt use ktorrent, he uses bittorrent. would it be possible to find out exactly how he got banned.

side note: is it possible for me to switch all my torrents from utorrent to ktorrent? if so, indulge me.

Banning always has something todo with the stats, so you could ask them but i do not see what that would give you.

Yes, you can re-download the torrent files and open them on the correct data path location so KTorrent goes re-hashing the data. It is not that hard actually.
