ktorrent 2.1 and ubuntu 7.04

Mon Oct 22, 2007 7:53 pm
hi all can anyone have a look as to why ktorrent 2.1 keeps crashing after about 1hr. I have got about 10-15 downloads going at the mow.
im running Gnome on Unbuntu 7.04 (im not sure of what version gnome is sorry). When Ktorrent crashes it gave me the chance to save a crash file, so i have got 2 of them.

Also i dont get a good down load speed (10-20K then goes down to 0k after about 20 mins then crashes). Im not sure if the crashing has something to do with the speed or if it is just the config of Ktorrent.

Long been fixed, upgrade to 2.1.4 or later

Alternatively, you can just disable DHT

ok thanks george. i have now updated my os to ubuntu 7.10 and that came with ktorrent 2.2.1 and that looks like it is working ok now, as it has not crashed in 13 hrs.

by disabling DHT is that a good thing to do, will doing this get more speed for downloading?

The problem was in the DHT, so if you wanted to keep using the old version, you could just disable DHT, and it wouldn't crash.
