ktorrent and guarddog

Sun Oct 28, 2007 2:56 pm
Hello,

I would like to use ktorrent with guarddog. But the problem is that ktorrent uses a lot of "outgoing" ports so I cannot configure guarddog. Does anybody know how to allow ktorrent's outgoing connections in guarddog?

Thanks a lot,
Vicks

I am not familiar with guarddog at all, but I assume it is something to help protect yourself against certain companies.

I assume it does this by monitoring the ip address it goes out to. The problem with ktorrent outgoing is that it will connect on the port that the peer uses, so you might be able to configure ktorrent to go through a proxy first and have it monitor the connections going to the proxy.

As I said I am not familiar with this software at all... so this might be complete garbage.

Ok, I now understand better about these "random" outgoing ports... As you say, I will try setting a proxy.

Thanks a lot for you response
