This happens at least 50% of the time on me, since about a month ago. Whether I use a right-click or the red X to stop seeding a downloaded file, KTorrent crashes out, with no useful error. I upgraded to 2.2.4 today, but KTorrent crashed the first time I cancelled a torrent.
Any ideas where to look for the source of the problem? |

Hmmm....
I have been suffering the same problem, plus I have noticed that minimizing the window seems to cause Ktorrent to crash. My temp solution has been to never minimize the Ktorrent window or send to run in the task bar... not really a fix, but it has been my work around. I am constantly grabbing Twit netcasts, Revision3 tv, hak5 tv, Geekbrief tv, and many other audio/video netcasts so the client pretty much runs fulltime. This torrent box if you will, is a dedicated box that saves to my NAS server and does not do anything but torrents, so not a big deal on my part to leave the window open all the time, but I do concur that there does seem to be a bug that appears when zeroconf is enabled. Figured I would share my two-cents regarding the report of this bug. Otherwise excellent and reliable torrent client! |

Ubuntu here also... could it be an Ubuntu issue or are other distro's encountering the same problem? If it is only Ubuntu the problem may be an Ubuntu handling issue and not Ktorrent... or at least not directly Ktorrent. |

I did have it crash a while ago, but I just hadn't killed ktorrent to install the 2.2.4 version, and I didn't notice anything in the backtrace about zeroconf.
Just an FYI, I remember when I was building this that I had a really hard time building zeroconf. I ended up having to do a lot of things so I could get it to compile and have ktorrent recognize it. Unfortunately it was long enough that I don't remember what I did. I am almost wondering if this has to do with the zeroconf package that ubuntu has put out. Maybe if you recompiled zeroconf then that might fix your issues. I am running the latest stable 0.6.21. I have been running 2.2.4 since it came out without any crashes, and I pretty much run it 24/7. |
