well what i have not understand so far is how ktorrents perfomance is affected by the number of connection setups.Could it be possible for ktorrent to work with 1 connection setups. Is there any documentation for this? What is the exact term(is it connection setups?) so that i could search furhter for this one?

Search for half open connections on wikipedia. I believe utorrent takes a standard of 10 connection setups in their client so you would be save with 10.

yeah i checked at wiki.I guess the only thing i can do is to open a ticket and ask my router's support service how many connections can my route handle.
As far as μtorrent is concerned it seems that it could not be more than 10 due to this

"Windows Xp Service Pack 2 Limits the number of half open connections you can have at one time to 10, however there is a patch available at http://www.lvllord.de/ that will allow you to increase this number to a more reasonable one like 50."
