Ktorrent did work well in Kubuntu 7.1 thru ATT cellular network and Sierra AC875 air card. In NC it was fast. In NH, all was slow but it did work. Now in AR with 20 to 35KB/S connection. Ktorrent complained can not connect to host with 7 trackers listed. Failed to connect 3 days. Fourth day it connected without me changing anything & got a 200 MB file. On 5th day I found ktorrent had gotten 2 files of 500 & 700 MB when? Sneaky efficient on my slow connection!
New HDD installed, Kubuntu 7.1 installed & updated again. Ktorrent can't connect to hosts again. Changed port numbers upward again without help again. Do I just wait 4 days for Ktorrent to start in mystery? Any clues why it started to connect before or failed to connect to hosts? |

As you can see, Konqueror does not connect.
"An error occurred while loading http://www.google.com/search?q=frog&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8:" Interesting. Another possible clue, after install of Kubuntu, I have repeatedly seen this computer not connect browser until after Apt had connected. I use Thunderbird & Firefox, so failure of Konqueror had not troubled me. Konqueror did work while in NC & Ktorrent was working. Neither connects in Arkansas. |

Thanks for clue, Konqueror using same code.
Konqueror only did not connectbit was set for direct Internet connection. Set it to hunt for proxy, it failed, set again to direct connect w/o proxy & it did connect. Closed Konqueror, Firefox & Ktorrent. Restarted Ktorrent & it connected, began downloading a file. Thanks again. This is wife's computer, it had same problem running same Kubuntu 7.1, so Ktorrent & Konqueror connect problem is not specific to processor brand, computer chipset or update level. Problem seems due to connect via ATT & Sierra AC875 Cellular modem. Just my guess. |
