ktorrent helps

Thu Dec 20, 2007 5:48 am
I have to admit it - I have a problem. I actually read documentation. (pause to hang head in shame.)

Unfortunately, I can't read the helps for ktorrent. Every time I choose "KTorrent Handbook" from the menu, I get the error:
Could not launch the KDE Help Center:
Could not find service 'khelpcenter'.

I'm new to Linux and recently loaded Ubuntu 7.10. Everything is pretty much the same as it was when I installed it. The GNOME interface still has all of the default setups except for the screen resolution. I understand that ktorrent is a KDE program, but it is supposed to work OK under GNOME. (I hope so, since it was loaded as part of the base Ubuntu install!)

The "Services" item on the menu doesn't have any refrence to a 'khelpcenter', running or not.

When I type "ktorrent -v" I get:
Qt: 3.3.7
KDE: 3.5.8
KTorrent: 2.2.1

Can anybody help me? (With the khelpcenter, I mean - not my compulsive reading) :?

Documentation isn't completed yet.

If you have any questions regarding KTorrent, just ask or browse the forum.

Thanks for the link! I have been thrashing around in the forumns a lot, but hadn't come across that thread. I'll go ahead and ask my dumb questions. Maybe I can even spark a discussion that will help bassmadrigal with his efforts to describe things. Looking through the past postings, he certainly seemd to have a good grasp of things.
