How would I re-seed torrents?

Sun Dec 23, 2007 1:02 am
I did a system format because I got a new hard drive, and I figured I could just re-download all of the torrents I downloaded before with all the files in the same directory, and it would just seed the files.
That didn't happen though; it started re-downloading all the files instead of simply seeding what I already had.
I wouldn't mind as much except that the tracker I am on is all based on ratio and I really don't want to get banned :/.
Is there any way I can seed files I already have that have the same name as ones on the tracker without having to "re-download" them?

Try

Code: Select all
File → Import existing download

after loading the „Import” plugin.

Thanks, Athantor. The "import" plug-in was just the thing I was looking for, too.

A quick-and-dirty shortcut worth adding to this thread: the torrent location (the information requested in the upper box of the "Import an existing download" dialogue box) can be quickly copied from the tracker webpage (eg in Konqueror I get a "Copy Link Address" option when I right-click the hypertext for the torrent), and then pasted in.
