Help me please! ktorrent + cp1251

Mon Dec 24, 2007 6:15 am
openSUSE 10.3 and ktorrent 2.2.4
I have often torrents in cp1251 coding (files or path names)
but ktorrent does not understand cp1251. stat letters see I square :(
currently locale is de_DE.UTF-8 und it looks exactly the same with locale ru_RU.CP1251
Auch parameter "KDE_LANG=ru_RU.CP1251" does not help.
I am newbe in Linux. Help me please! How could one solve this problem?

Check for Cyrillic fonts installed.
I have installed openSUSE 10.3 with Russian localization initially.
No problem with dialog window you post.

How could this examine? Ich bin newbe :)
I have installed local CP1251 in the system, but ktorrent sees, nevertheless, cp1251 not properly. With andere programme is alles ok! For example, Konqueror or mc..

Code: Select all
gwelgoth@Feadae:/llocale -a | grep ru
ru_RU
ru_RU.cp1251
ru_RU.koi8r
ru_RU.utf8
ru_UA
ru_UA.utf8

Tried that torrent, the problem with this torrent is that the encoding is not specified in it, in which case we will assume UTF8, if I force it to cp1251 I get nice cyrillic chars.

I forced it by changing something in the code, you can't do this from the GUI.

However, seeing that this problem seems to show now and then on Chinese or Russian torrents, I'm going to add this somewhere in the GUI so that you can select the encoding.
