Hi,
my problem is that when downloading one specific torrent, namely this one: http://www.mininova.org/tor/822789, ktorrent goes up to 100% cpu usage and freezes. After I kill it and rerun it, it says that download is not started, and when I try to start it, I get the message that files are missing and whether I want to recreate them. If I do, ktorrent freezes again. It never creates any files, just ends up with creating the folder and that's it. This is the only torrent I've ever had problems with, and I have downloaded it some time ago, so I guess it's not broken. My ktorrent -v says:
Qt: 3.3.7
KDE: 3.5.6
KTorrent: 2.1
and I'm using Kubuntu 7.10.
Any help appreciated, thanks :)

Works here with the latest in the 2.2 series, I suggest you upgrade to 2.2.4

I have had the same problem. My ktorrent could not handle speeds more than 100kB/s with 80-90% of CPU usage.

Solution: Disable all plugins.

Now my ktorrent use less than 10% of CPU and downloads with more than 500kB/s!!!
