I stumbled on a reference somewhere to PeerGuardian and remembered that the IP Blocking Plug-in uses it. I'm a little confused as to why this is useful. The comment said something about reducing anti-P2P activity.
How about it - is there a problem? How much does the IP Blocking Filter really do? Is anybody actively using it? |

How can I tell if that is causing problems for me? Is there a number somewhere I should be watching? Also, do you mean they are sending bad chunks instead of the real chunk? The hash for each chunk should prevent those from corrupting your downloaded data. Is the problem just that they are taking up bandwidth, or is there something else to be aware of? |

It's not that simple, chunks are divided into pieces of 16KB, and those are downloaded, so they only need to get in one bogus piece to screw up the hash for the entire chunk. And because there are no hashes for pieces, we can't check if a piece is correct. |
