I've probably been using ktorrent for 6 or 7 months. Once I initially configured it I didn't have any problems with being connectable or whatever. That recently changed. One day (maybe a week ago), I no longer was connectable to trackers and as a result my downloads stalled. I wasn't sure what wasn't working at first which is why I waited so long to ask for help.
I do know the problem lies with Ktorrent, since I've tested another torrent client and it connected fine. I disabled DHT on the configuration screen and there's no option to disable it or PEX on the context menu (I'm guessing that's because it's automatically disabled for private torrents). Any help would be greatly appreciated, since I really, really like ktorrent and I don't want to switch. |

Silly mode ON (with no intension to offend anyone ![]() If i were u i wouldnt be that sure.I mean ktorrent has not changed during the last days.If it was ktorrent it wouldn't work from the first place.Programms and codes do not grow up and do not change during time by themselves. They do not follow the rules of evolution. ITs kind of the same thing thing with my ISP.Suddenly i got a terrible noise at my adsl line and they tell me that the distance between me and my dslam has grown. On the other hand im telling them that my house is still in the same place and hasnt moved at all. Silly mode off. Are u using private trackers?Check if ktorrent is blacklisted on their forums. The only torrent clients that most trackers know are Utorrent and azureus.I had an issue recently with a greek private tracker were ktorrent was blacklisted simply cause they didnt know about it.Problem solved ofcourse. Try also to reset your pass key. |

I wasn't implying that the problem lies with Ktorrent's code. That wouldn't make sense because, as you said, the code hasn't changed recently. What I meant by that statement is that I know the problem doesn't lie with my router or with my computer as it does so much of the time when someone complains about lack of connectability.

Some trackers have so-called "whitelists", which only allows a pre-defined set of torrenting clients. Check under the "trackers" tab, in the bottom of the screen, and make sure it connects OK. It should say there if KTorrent is not allowed to connect.
If so, you should contact the tracker administrators. |
