.. and that does exactly what?. does it notify the tracker of a request?.. or what?..
Is there an option that allows you to connect to more of the seeders? I'm brand spankin new to torrent sharing, and am starving for information. |

It spawns a http request to the tracker where it tells the tracker some static information like the number of downloaded/seeded bytes in that session and it basicly also gets information back from the tracker with which peers are in swarm so it knows where to download/seed from/to. |

Ahhh.. okay. I see
![]() Can you quick school me on 'treckers'?. Are "all" of the listed trackers being used, or only one?. Is it possible to add trackers?.. and improve dl speed? Also, when I seed, is there a protocol, or limit that I should be looking for? "Share" 1.68.. I'm assuming that that indicates that I have uploaded/seeded 168% or half again the total file. Is that sufficient?. or should I keep seeding.? I hate sounding soooo uninformed,(dumb) I can read, and comprehend pretty well, but I simply can't find a place with the information. I'm even lost as to what most of the statistics mean.. "score, choked, snubbed, requests".. or what effect most of the settings have. |

No, afaik only one tracker is used at a time, the next tracker will be only used when the first tracker did not respond, then the third one etc. It is only possible to add trackers to non-private torrents, but a torrent with the same infohash must be available(uploaded) on the tracker for this to work. Download speeds could be improved, but only is some circumstances like: - not enough peers available on one tracker (remember though, the more connections !=more speed per definition) - bad sharing swarm on one tracker(like bitcomet clients....(sorry)) Remember that you could always manually switch trackers by using change tracker for this.
Mostly seeding on private trackers is must be done with a share ratio of 1:1 or higher, some tracker will only look as you total share ratio while other will look at this per torrent too. so be carefull with that. Personally i keep this at a share ratio of 1.03 for private trackers and 0.8 to 1.03 for non-private trackers.
Score is just a way for your client to decide which client gets choked(no upload) and which peer doesn't. It tries to favours the better sharing peers while not banning the less better sharing peers. KTorrent sends a snub when there is no activity for X seconds, it' s sort of " hey i put you on a IDLE for now bacause you ain't doing anything with the connection." Choked is a flag so the other side knows that the other side is not going to upload to " the interested" peer. Choked and snubbed are listed for what flag the other side has given us. Requests are just counts for how much pieces(a piece is 64byte) there are requested currently. Requesting can only be done if the connection is unchoked, the left side is for download, right side for uploaded. Yeah we should have finished a document for this by now but currently we have had no time for this, We should check up on bassmadrigal how far he got with this. |
