Must always "manual announce" to download

I searched this forum for quite a while, trying to find a similar issue, but to no avail...

My issue is, when I'm downloading, it starts out at a high rate of speed, then gradually slows down, eventually to about 0.9 kbps (on average). I've set no download/upload limit.

However, when I "manual anncounce", it starts back up again. Everything starts downloading just fine. But then, again, after a few minutes, it starts slowing down to nearly nothing.

I noticed someone else with this issue, but it never had any resolution.

I downloaded "Transmission", just to see if maybe there was some other issue I wasn't aware of, on my side, but it steadily downloads at roughly 200+ kbps for the same file I was attempting to download (same tracker) with Ktorrent.

Any ideas why I have to manually announce in order to download?

Thanks in advance!

Version ? Sounds like a problem which we had in older versions.

Hey, thanks for the fast reply :)

It's version 2.2.5. I don't know if this helps at all, but I'm using Ubuntu Gutsy.

Thanks again :)

Can you post the log file of such a session ? (The log file can be found in ~/.kde/share/apps/ktorrent/log) Or send it to me by mail ? Also include a torrent showing this behavior.
