FIX: Problem with PHP executable

Wed Feb 13, 2008 11:48 am
I know this isn't really a problem for most people, but I have had ktorrent crash a few times and upon restarting it I am unable to get the webUI to work correctly again. I get the dreaded PHP error when I login.

I forgot to copy paste it, but it goes something like this

1.1/HTTP
Failed to launch PHP executable !

Anyway in the few times past that I have dealt with this problem reinstalling php or ktorrent have fixed the problem so I always resorted to reinstalling linux. Not the best solution, but it fixed the problem. This time I took a more sophisticated approach, I deleted the ~./kde/share/apps/ktorrent/ folder. I don't know what file in there gets corrupted exactly so I just got rid of the whole folder. I had to go back and re-setup the properties and my plugins as well as reload my .torrent files, but it was worth it to fix whatever problem I ran into.

Keep up the good work guys

OK I did it again, I messed up the PHP thing. I think that it has something to do with me killing ktorrent from the command line rather than from the GUI. Oh well. Anyway this time I not only deleted all of the ~/.kde/share/apps/ktorrent folder I also removed ~/.kde/share/config/ktorrentrc and some other ktorrent* file in that directory. I had to resetup ktorrent as all of the config files were gone.

Hopefully I don't mess it up again.
