Im using Ktorrent 2.2.1 with KDE 3.5.8 on Ubuntu 7.10, everything is great so far, I can also access the Web GUI on localhost, but I wonder how to make the Web GUI work remotely (e.g. from my freehosting domain), because it may prove handy one day maybe... A lot of people miss a guide on this I think. I am a Linux, php and html noob by the way :), but ready to learn new things :)

Thanks a lot!

All you need to know is the public IP of the computer running KT, if you are behind a router you will need to forward the port you are listening on. (If the UPnP plugin is loaded, this can be done automatically, just enable the forward port checkbox)

If your IP address is dynamic or you don't want to remember it, you could use dyndns, so that you can use a hostname.

It works when I enter my local ip, but doesnt work if I enter my external ip :( (both addresses entered from my computer). I tried it with the forward port box checked and unchecked, and both didnt work... Where could the problem be ?

EDIT: I use Firestarter firewall btw, maybe it is a helpfull information.

Does your firewall allow incoming connections on the port you are using ?

I tried to allow connections on port 8080, but with no further success. I am going to ask on ubuntuforums.org and will post it here if it is solved, thanks for your help anyway ;)
