This version of ktorrent and the previous version both had this problem.
Pretty sure my default KDE lang is GBeng but I also have Japanese installed and skim.

I have not found a way to change the language to purely English and I have tried and searched forums but with no luck.

I also have this problem with K3b but haven't noticed it with other KDE applications.

I'm using Kubuntu Feisty with KDE 3.5.6

Please help me.

KTorrent will use whatever language is configured in the KDE settings, so there must be something wrong there.

What is the best procedure to follow in order to track down what is wrong?
I have already been to System Settings, Regional and Language and all looks well there.

Help much appreciated.

You have to find a file named: ktorrent.mo
Most probably you'll find it in /usr/share/locale/country_code/LC_MESSAGES, where country_code is (mostly) presented as double letter code (bg, de, ja, pl and so on).
Remove, or better rename the file and restart an application. It should be shown in English now.

Thanks, that did it. Fixed the k3b program too. But the .mo files were in locale-langpack .
