Ktorrent autostart issue

Wed Mar 05, 2008 1:39 pm
I am using Fedora 8 with Compiz-Fusion loading at start up. When I start a new session, ktorrent starts up but doesn't go to the system tray. Instead it appears as a small window in the upper left corner. All that I can do with it at this point is right click and then exit. I then have to kill the ktorrent process and relaunch.

I have posted this issue in both fedoraforums and linuxquestions.org before posting here but haven't found a solution.

Never seen that before. Is it using up a lot of CPU when this happens ?

No. It's just like it's being run normally except that it doesn't appear in the system tray but instead appears in the upper left corner as a small window that can't be manipulated except for 'right click' then 'exit'. I kind of think the problem is related to either compiz fusion or kde but I haven't been able to pin point it .

Hi there!

Same problem for me. I'm running Kubuntu 7.10 with compiz enabled at the startup: when kde starts, ktorrent is still running (and downloading), but i have no tray icon. The only chance is to kill ktorrent process and restart it.
