Oh and you need the KDE-libs-devel and a few other packages... I forgot which, But I posted them somewhere on the forums

My understanding was that Kubuntu 8.10 contained KDE 4.

now running make is giving me trouble:

I'm willing to bet that if you use the steps in my post here it should work fine for you.

It appears that the only difference is that you are using KDE so it shouldn't be an issue.

EDIT:

Steps 7-8 in my post should fix the first error at least, if not both.

Install the kdelibs-devel and maybe also the kdelibs3-devel packages
