There is a private site that shutdown, and since that time, torrents with only that site's trackers, don't download, they just set in the list. That is what I would expect to happen.

Since I expect the site to find a new home, I have left any torrent for them running.

I have noticed something strange. One of my torrents for that site's tracker just started up all by itself, and the torrent was downloading. I checked the site, but it was still down. Stupidly, the first time this happened, i had to shut down my machine for some reason and when I rebooted, this site's torrent was dead again. It's been dead for more than a month since, But today, I noticed that two of them are active again and downloading again, yet the site is still missing in action! HOW CAN THIS BE?

--And is there a way to activate my other torrents from this site that I have saved which I was going to download?

Maybe this is the fast resume in action here.

DHT is enabled. I just checked the peers on one of the torrents and it has 3 peers that are DHT green check marks active and it has 2 peers that have orange X's that are active.

Are you saying DHT somehow finds seeders and leeches without using the tracker, since I am connected to both types?

What is a fast resume? (Doesn't seem very fast, since these torrents have been waiting for several months now with no action! Ha Ha Ha)

Fast resume is a feature where the saved list of previous active peers gets reused. It should help you connect to peers faster.

This doesn't seem to me that this could be Fast Resume, as, why would all these Seeders and Leeches ALL just get together at the same time and decide to be available after months of not being there at all?

For example, on one of the two torrents that just came alive, I have:

Seeders= 5(9) Leeches 4(17)

That's 26 people who just all suddenly went on line together and appeared as one on my stats. They couldn't have been there before if I understand your definition of Fast Resume?

I will be the first to admit I don't know much about this part of the computer world, but I am just trying to understand what happened to suddenly give me access to so many people after so long of utterly nothing. I was thinking that if I could understand it, maybe I could use
it to wake up other dead torrents for the same site.

Then the tracker must be active again, because only the tracker would be able to give you the total amount of seeders and leechers. What do you see in the trackers tab ?

I see only the site's tracker url which is on the site that is out of action for months. If I go to the site, it says "The site is currently down." It is my understanding that they are looking for another ISP host....eventually.

The site can be down while the tracker still works.

Evidently so, although I don't understand how. I tried launching several trackers I have downloaded, but never launched before, and many of them also have active seeders and leeches. I guess I shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth.

Thanks! :D
