Done something stupid

Fri Apr 04, 2008 1:21 am
I ran out of room on one volume and moved a completed downloaded folder to another volume. There is a large number of files in the total torrent broken into folders. Apparently moving things is a no no.

I got an error about data files and told it not to rebuild, I thought it would pick up where is was and just keep going. I didn't want to re-download all the files I already had. That seems to have been another bad idea.

Now I cannot restart the torrent to get the rest of the files. I'm still seeding the files I didn't move but I cannot get any view of download.
I do get a message torrents are merged and is downloading.

How do I fix this mess? The original volume is out of room, though there is lots of space on the hard drive. Newbie to Ubuntu and torrents, need to read up on volumes, mounting, and all that stuff. I hoped the current volume would grow as needed as there is blank space on the drive, but again wrong idea. I'll read up on volumes etc, but how do I fix the torrent and get it going again?

Thanks for the help.

You will have to remove all those torrents and then reimport them. Either using the import plugin or just opening them again and make sure that you select the new location as destination.

I'll give that a try.

Is there anything that tells how ktorrent works? What you can and cannot do? What is the date file? Apparently it is not the files you download but the database on what is download.

Thanks again.
