Hi,
I am using KT 2.2.1 with KDE 3.5.6 under Ubuntu Feisty Fawn, and I am in the middle of downloading a 20 Gb off a 60 Gb torrent. KT was downloading it nicely, but when I exited KT and re-started it later, the torrent is stuck in "Not Started" state, I can't start it at all! The Enqueue command have no effect too. The Update tracker button been all greyed out too. When I push the green play button, nothing happens at all, nothing, not even a brief delay like it does normally. This had happened before, it won't start for days, after multiple attempts, then one day it just works. What's up? Thanks, mark |

Just upgraded to 2.2.5, same problem persist.
Sometimes I get these errors, could they be related? Qt: Warning: QFile::writeBlock: File not open Qt: Warning: QFile::writeBlock: File not open ... and when exiting ... KCrash: Application 'ktorrent' crashing... kio (KIOConnection): ERROR: Could not write data Xlib: extension "XInputExtension" missing on display ":1.0". Failed to get list of devices kio (KIOConnection): ERROR: Could not write data kio (KIOConnection): ERROR: Could not write data kbuildsycoca running... Reusing existing ksycoca kio (KSycoca): ERROR: No database available! I hope I don't have to go back to azureus. ![]() thanks, mark |

ok, here is the log file with only the torrent in question loaded, I deleted everything, quit and restarted KT, tried restarting the torrent, it failed, then I closed KT.
There seems to be some complain about data/file limit. I am using a ReiserFS 3.6 fs under the standard Ubunut kernel 2.6.20-16-generic spartan@spartan:~/.kde/share/apps$ cat ktorrent/log Sat Apr 19 21:36:33 2008: Bound to port 9988 Sat Apr 19 21:36:33 2008: DHT: Starting on port 7331 Sat Apr 19 21:36:33 2008: DHT: Loading bucket 135 Sat Apr 19 21:36:33 2008: DHT: Loading bucket 139 Sat Apr 19 21:36:33 2008: DHT: Loading bucket 140 Sat Apr 19 21:36:33 2008: DHT: Loading bucket 141 Sat Apr 19 21:36:33 2008: DHT: Loading bucket 142 Sat Apr 19 21:36:33 2008: DHT: Loading bucket 143 Sat Apr 19 21:36:33 2008: DHT: Loading bucket 144 Sat Apr 19 21:36:33 2008: DHT: Loading bucket 145 Sat Apr 19 21:36:33 2008: DHT: Loading bucket 146 Sat Apr 19 21:36:33 2008: DHT: Loading bucket 147 Sat Apr 19 21:36:33 2008: DHT: Loading bucket 148 Sat Apr 19 21:36:33 2008: DHT: Loading bucket 149 Sat Apr 19 21:36:33 2008: DHT: Loading bucket 150 Sat Apr 19 21:36:33 2008: DHT: Loading bucket 151 Sat Apr 19 21:36:33 2008: DHT: Loading bucket 152 Sat Apr 19 21:36:33 2008: DHT: Loading bucket 153 Sat Apr 19 21:36:33 2008: DHT: Loading bucket 154 Sat Apr 19 21:36:33 2008: DHT: Loading bucket 155 Sat Apr 19 21:36:33 2008: DHT: Loading bucket 156 Sat Apr 19 21:36:33 2008: DHT: Loading bucket 157 Sat Apr 19 21:36:33 2008: DHT: Loading bucket 158 Sat Apr 19 21:36:33 2008: DHT: Loading bucket 159 Sat Apr 19 21:36:33 2008: Loading /home/spartan/.kde/share/apps/ktorrent/tor0/ Sat Apr 19 21:36:33 2008: Encoding : windows-1252 Sat Apr 19 21:36:33 2008: Multi file torrent Sat Apr 19 21:36:35 2008: OutputPath = /weapons/new/Incoming/4 - Tom Baker/ Sat Apr 19 21:36:35 2008: Loading plugin Zeroconf Sat Apr 19 21:36:35 2008: ZeroConf service added for 4 - Tom Baker Sat Apr 19 21:36:35 2008: Loading plugin UPnP Sat Apr 19 21:36:35 2008: Trying to find UPnP devices on the local network Sat Apr 19 21:36:35 2008: Loading plugin Search Sat Apr 19 21:36:35 2008: Loading plugin Info Widget Sat Apr 19 21:36:35 2008: Loading plugin Bandwith Scheduler Sat Apr 19 21:36:35 2008: Loading plugin IP Filter Sat Apr 19 21:36:35 2008: Loading Anti-P2P filter... The problem was that I had "Start download on low disk space" set to "don't start", and minimum diskspace set to 1Gb. So when the free space after accounting for the torrent was less than 1Gb, KT refused to start it and it didn't ask about it ... KT doing what it was told to do..... just realised this last night in the midst of sleep.
Would have been nice if KT used something visual like uTorrent's bad health status to report these type of problems... thanks for the help anyway, mark |

You mean like the passive popup we show (unless of course you turned those off) |
