After shutting down ktorrent, at the next launching, I have to go into ktorrentrc and reset the value of hidden_on_exit= to false to get the GUI to come up. I save the file after I change it. A copy is created ktorrentrc~.

I have to do this at every launching. I've also deleted the line with the same results.

Why is the file resetting itself? I've never seen this before.

It should only hide when the system tray icon is shown, otherwise we will always show the window, no matter what hidden_on_exit is set to.

So is the system tray icon shown ?

Hi - when the application is running, that is I have the GUI interface, there is an icon in the system tray. When the GUI does not load then no icon.

The only way I can get the GUI toload is to edit the ktorrentrc file as I said, then it works. I have to go in and edit it every time I launch ktorren. It seems that on closing ktorrent resets the defaults.

Just to be sure, check if the system tray icon is disabled in the settings.
