Compile 3.0.2

Thu May 01, 2008 12:45 pm
Kubuntu 8.04, with the addition of KDE4-Desktop and kde4-devel

I'm trying to install the latest stable version (3.0.2) and have hit a brick wall in as much that I don't have the qca.pc file

me@server:/thrash/ktorrent-3.0.2/build$ cmake -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=/usr/lib/kde4 ..
-- Found Qt-Version 4.3.4 (using /usr/bin/qmake-qt4)
-- Found X11: /usr/lib/libX11.so
-- Found KDE 4.0 include dir: /usr/lib/kde4/include
-- Found KDE 4 library dir: /usr/lib/kde4/lib
-- Found KDE4 kconfig_compiler preprocessor: /usr/lib/kde4/bin/kconfig_compiler
-- Found KDE4 automoc: /usr/lib/kde4/bin/kde4automoc
-- KDE CMake PKGCONFIG macro indicates that qca2 is not installed on your computer.
-- Install the package which contains qca2.pc if you want to support this feature.
-- Could NOT find QCA2 includes
-- Could NOT find QCA2 libraries
CMake Error: Could NOT find QCA2
-- Configuring done

After a fair amount of googling and hair pulling, I'm now bald and unable to find any way to get QCA2 !

Any guidance much appreciated.

Thanks.

I suppose it's Qt Cryptographic Architecture (QCA) you are missing, or it's development package. See http://delta.affinix.com/qca/

It's most likely located in it's own pakages/devel-pakages or in some kind of kde-support package. Guess it's depends on your distribution.

Run this command :

sudo apt-get build-dep ktorrent-kde4

If that doesn't install everything you need to compile ktorrent 3.0.2, you can start pulling out the hair of the kubuntu people :-)
