Ok. I just downloaded my first BIG (3.8G) file. Immediately after that I got a message "are you going to replace an existing file aaaaa.iso" . Well, of course I didn't, so I decided to change the name into aaaaa1.iso . Next I got a message telling me that file aaaaa.iso did not exist (huh?), so now I am unable to upload the data I downloaded first. Well, I don't care whose fault it is, even if it were mine, but I think that something can be improved here.

I've seen this happen on multiple version of ktorrent, usually after a program crash , or if my system hangs for some reason and I have to hard reboot. I guess there should be multiple options in the scenario that the file(s) already exist... overwrite, check data integrity and continue (DL or seed), ignore and do nothing (leave torrent unstarted, perhaps in an error state)
I usually personall y fix the problem by copying the torrrent file from the temporary directory, then in ktorrent removing the torrent, then using the import plugin to reload it. It's an annoying process that shouldn't be too hard to make more user friendly. I think this should be the default when any new torrent is loaded and the file(s) already exist, not just on start up. |
