I recently did a clean install of kubuntu hardy after creating a new /home partition for data.

For some reason I now get an error in the logs:

"authentication to xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx: failure
timed out"-where xxx... is the ip address of the peer that ktorrent wants to connect to.

I have the port set to 50002 tcp
tracker to 4444 udp
dht to 4445 udp

I have also set these ports in guarddog as I did before the new install.

Ktorrent is great, I have never had a problem with it at all until now.

Any ideas?

ANSWER: Having turned off guarddog firewall ktorrent worked. Checked and rechecked guarddog setting could not see a problem-so ditched guarddog for ipkungfu firewall and ktorrent is working again.
