problem installing ktorrent 2.2.5

Hello, am trying to install ktorrent 2.2.5,
when i enter the command ./configure i get this error msg
checking for X... configure: error: Can't find X libraries. Please check your installation and add the correct paths!
could anyone give me a hint what am not doing right?

forgot to mention that i had ktorrent 2.0.5 running on my pc, but i need 2.2.5 for some private tracker

First remove KTorrent 2.0.5 from your computer by using your distribution package manager. Then download the lastest 2.2.7 source package and start compiling it after you have installed build-essential. You would have to install libgmp header packages too and probably some other too, but we will see how far you would come with this.

If you are running ubuntu or some debian based operating system, you can do this :

sudo apt-get build-dep ktorrent

That should install everything to compile ktorrent
