If I click with right button on torrent popup menu popups,
I has Additional Peer Source submenu with DHT and Peer Exchange checked by default.

I wish it be unchecked by default.

I use web gui to add downloads and it is hard to uncheck as I have to start VNC and enter password twice.

I have KTorrent 2.2.5 that comes with Fedora.

Do I have to download source code, modify it and build my own KTorrent?

Is there a better solution?

Well, it is unchecked but it shows you as checked, though this is not the case anymore in the kde4 version, where it show you unchecked when it is.

I started to uncheck these boxes when I found that my score is not growing on tracker after some time. It completely stops to grow after 24 hours.

If I manually uncheck them then everything is OK.

I have DHT unchecked in KTorrent's Preferences but ti is ignored.

DHT and PEX have nothing to do with your score, disabling them won't make a difference.

Bad peers are modified torrent clients that try to download files for free.

When I upload to bad peers tracker stops to increase my score.

This bad peers get into list from alternative sources like DHT and Peer Exchange.

Good peers are peers that are obtained from tracker directly.

If DHT is disabled it is not used, regardless of what is checked in the additional peer sources menu.

Peers exchange information about who they are connected to. So if the torrent is a private torrent (and thus nobody can get in via DHT), it does no harm, seeing that peers would only be exchanging information about peers who are known by the tracker.

Why can't any client in private torrent give fake client list?

I think it is what happens because if I stop ktorrent delete peer list and start it again then my score start grow ~ 2 times faster.

BTW Is there technology to validate peers on tracker?

It would be great if ktorrent would query tracker validating its peer list and delete fake peers or just delete all peer list every 3 hour and download new peer list from server.
